For many reasons, I’m glad that Patriot’s Day and Marathon Monday is almost here. It has been a very long year for Bostonians and the recovery process has spanned days, months and seasons. Finally, the weather is warming up, the sun is poking through the clouds and the runners are returning to Boston, along with a renewed sense of togetherness for Bostonians everywhere. On top of pasta dinners and last-minute training, there’s one more thing you should check out if you’re going to be in town for the marathon festivities.
Keep reading to meet some great new brands on the Boston scene and to learn more about how you can give back to Boston Strong by shopping!
I love new things. Whether shiny and sparkly or seersucker and striped, Boston is no stranger to new storefronts and vendors. Newbury Street in particular is a friendly spot for all things new and exciting and makes for a great spot to get inspired, sartorially speaking.
Beginning April 18th from 10am-8pm*, a new pop-up shop is in town. Bringing together some of the best of “preppy” New England style, customers will get the opportunity to try-on merchandise and meet with the owners of Category 5 Boat Shoes, Beacon and Brewster, Cape Cod Shoe Supply, Harding-Lane, York Design Company, and Dock & Harbor.
Located at 301 Newbury St., the shop inventory will range from $10 to $140 and 10% of proceeds during the Boston Marathon weekend will go toward the One Fund. From personalized boat shoes to polos and flip flops to hats, this shop has all of your spring and summer sartorial needs. Mark your calendar and check them out before they’re gone!
*Private shopping events will be held after hours for exclusive groups. Shop will be open until April 28, 2014. For more, contact Jason at Jason@Cat5BoatShoes.com
