Birchbox Un-boxed: April 2014

Today’s post is all about the best beauty subscription in the business. Ever since my teaser tweet a few days ago, I’ve been excited to share what what I found when I opened this month’s box and I’m so happy to introduce you to some great new brands you might not know of yet.

Keep reading to find out what I’m loving this month!

Bright Ideas For A Rainy Day: Number 42

It really was just too cute for Birchbox to include little love notes for lazy rainy days. It’s like they know that all I want to do is make a cup of tea and curl up with my Netflix account. Now I have four great things to do so I can actually feel productive and cozy on days when it’s oh so hard to get out of bed.

Color Club in Breakfast At…

If you were looking for a new favorite nail polish shade, I’ve found it. Color Club has perfected iridescence with their shade “Breakfast At…”, a nod to the polish’s namesake and one of the most iconic stores when it comes to looking and feeling glamorous.

Kind Healthy Grains Bar (Maple Pumpkin Seeds)

When it comes to gluten-free, all natural, non-GMO snacks, KIND makes a killer super snack you’re going to want to get your hands on. The treat in my box is all that with 5 super grains, “ingredients you can see and pronounce” and 100% whole grains.

Number 4 Clarifying Shampoo

As I do with every treat in my monthly boxes, I inspected this product thoroughly to learn what makes it worthy of being carefully selected by the Birchbox team. For starters, it’s a deep cleansing solution with a “low lather formula”, “it won’t strip moisture or color” and it doubles as a body wash. You just might never need another clarifying shampoo for as long as you live.

Number 4 Reconstructing Masque

Sometimes masques are complicated and make hair maintenance kind of a pain. This masque is a dream. A restorative treatment to use after you shampoo, this formula “infuses moisture and protein” when you need it most. Kind of like those gulps of water and protein shake you take after your crazy hard workout only more luxurious and relaxing.

Sumita Beauty Contrast Eye Pencil in Bhura (Brown)

Don’t you just hate it when your eyeliner goes dull or the color isn’t as rich as you would have liked? With Sumita Contrast Pencils, those are two things you don’t have to worry about. I was thrilled to have received the “Bhura” shade because my coloring calls for rich chocolates and golds and I’m always in search of the perfect liner. Breaking news update: My search just might be over.

Supergoop Anti-Aging City Sunscreen Serum

Every city girl knows that protect your face on the daily with SPF is a must. Finally, a company has taken it upon themselves to package the most perfect, damage repair complex that you can wear to work, to a picnic on The Common or on an overcast day on the waterfront. Take your pick and apply liberally.

Even more fun things to do when being cozy is a requirement.
