Friday Favorites: Summer Sites To Shop

Whether Pay Day is today or not, you’re likely overdue for a “Treat Yo’ Self Day”. It’s practically June which means that for all intents and purposes, summer is here and you need to dress accordingly. My wish list has everything from mango-hued dresses to daffodil-colored pants and everything in between. Want to know where I score some of my cute steals?

Keep reading for my summer shopping guide!

Must-haves (& more!)
Must-haves (& more!)

1. Red lipstick

The most classic “pop of color” can be found in your lip color. It might be your grandmother’s timeless “hand-me-down” or a shade you stumbled upon yourself but wherever you discovered it, red lipstick is a summer staple you’ve just got to have. It will look great with everything from an A-line dress to jeans and ballet flats. I really can’t recommend this “must-have” enough.

Shop brands like: Chanel, MAC, & Clinique

2. Sandals

Since anything with an open-toe can be questionable for the work place, why not have a little fun and buy sandals in colors that will make them noticeable in only the best way possible?! It’s wise to have a few pairs for different occasions as flip-flops just won’t do in some situations.

Shop brands likeCole Haan, Charles David, & Lucky Brand

3. Turquoise jewelry

Taking another style queue from my fashion guru, Nina Garcia, “turquoise is one of those stones that you will often hear is ‘back,’ but as far as I’m concerned, it’s really never goes away.” I couldn’t agree more. The shade of this stone is absolutely perfect against everything from white cable knit sweaters to traditional blue denim jackets. If you were looking for the perfect accessory to spice up your wardrobe this season, this is it.

Shop things like: Earrings, necklace, ring

4.Vintage

I’m not a big believer in staying away from things that were so last season, just check out my wardrobe. Currently I’m rocking a Lucky Brand peasant top complete with a sash and white cotton beach pants. The look is very hippie-mets-Arabian-princess but I’m comfortable and confident and that’s all that matters. Looks and pieces that were once loved were loved for a reason and that is why I am a big believer in resurrecting vintage items that never really needed a resurrection in the first place.

Shop brands like: Modcloth (On-line), Decades (L.A.), What Goes Around Comes Around (NY)

5. Wellington boots

For the days when it not only rains, but pours, you’ll need something on your feet other than your Havianas. Hunter Boots have really stolen the show lately but this style of boot is a timeless classic you will feel dry and confident wearing ten years from now. Don’t believe me? This style has been around since the early 1880’s.

Shop brands like: Hunter, boohoo, &  Nanette Lepore

6. Yoga gear

Whether you’re headed to yoga or just want to look like you were for a quick run to Starbucks, nothing says fitness chic like stripy tanks and brightly colored leggings. Reward yourself for making it to the gym (or at least thinking about it), by purchasing some cute, well-fitting jackets and pants.

Shop things like: Tanks, tops, & pants

7. Zippered hoodie

There will be days when you need an extra pocket for seashells, money for an ice cream cone or something to cover your head on a chilly day at the beach. For those reasons, a zippered hoodie (with or without pockets) is the perfect thing to have on hand. Brightly colored styles are perfect on the dreary days you’ll likely need to sport it but neutrals (and whites) are perfect for the season.

Shop brands like: Champion, Bebe, & dELiA*s
