With the annual Nordstrom Anniversary sale nearly underway, now seems as good a time as any to share some of my favorite fashion finds you can score for cheap at many of the mid-summer sales. These are classics you can wear year-round and you’ll be glad you scooped them up on a bargain instead of paying full-price out of desperation down the road.

For the most sleek & versatile skirt you can own, now’s the time to shop for pencil skirts. My twenty-something style consists largely of things that I can wear to work and beyond. My favorite skirt is a soft jersey wrap skirt (similar to #2 above) that I’ve worn to the office & Beyoncé & Jay-Z’s “On the Run” tour. Skirts, or any item for that matter, that can work in different situations are well worth the investment…or time spent to find them at a steal!
There is no look more classic (cosmetically speaking) than a bold red lip. Even on your more dressed down days, a bright lip says, “I woke up like this and I’m very glamorous”. But with such a bright color move, especially one that might be unfamiliar to you, there can be some anxiety in selecting just the right shade. Lucky for you, Allure magazine has taken all of the guesswork out of it. Read here for a complete guide on selecting the red that’s right for you.
Now that the initial draw of summer is over, beachwear accessories are starting to drop in value. Major brands have to compete with boardwalk shops being open and supplying sun-kissed goddesses everywhere with their beach needs. Even before the Nordstrom Anniversary sale has kicked off, select swim styles (like the sarongs featured above) have been marked down to just $9.49. And you’ll never know when you’ll need a cute beach wrap mid-winter…
Coral is the color of the summer and is e v e r y w h e r e you look. It brightens all-black ensembles and mutes bold color choices. Apparently coral “dispels the evil eye” which is just one more way to ensure you have a flawless day even if your hair isn’t cooperating in the heat.
Before Hurricane Arthur I had completely forgotten about stormy days. Wearing cute flats or strappy sandals is just not practical during days of inclement weather and they surely won’t pass as useful when the temperature starts to drop. I’m loving the Chooka brand boots that are big right now & I’m so glad rain boots have become a much ore fabulous footwear option than they used to be!
